How to Apply DTF (Direct To Film) Transfers

Quick video + step-by-step instructions for perfect results every time.

Watch the full pressing process from start to finish, including the final sealing press.

    • Temperature: 290°F (143°C)

    • Pressure: Medium

    • Press Time: 15 seconds

    • Peel: Cold peel (wait until fully cooled)

    • Finish Press: 15 seconds with a teflon sheet or parchment

    1. Preheat the garment (optional but recommended)
Press for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

    2. Position the transfer
Place transfer adhesive-side down where you want the design.

    3. Press #1
Heat press at 290°F, medium pressure, 15 seconds.

    4. Cool completely
Let the transfer cool until it’s fully cold to the touch.

    5. Cold peel
Peel the carrier sheet slowly and smoothly.

    6. Press #2 (seal press)
Cover with a teflon sheet or parchment paper, then press again for 15 seconds.

    7. Final cool down
Let it cool before stretching or wearing.

    • Use a heat press (household irons are not recommended)

    • Press on a flat seam-free area when possible

    • If pressing on onesies, place a pressing pillow or folded towel inside to avoid seams

    • Avoid excessive steam/moisture

    • Edges lifting after peel
Re-cover and press again 10–15 seconds with medium pressure.

    • Design looks dull
Add the second press (seal press). This usually fixes it.

    • Transfer won’t release cleanly
It likely wasn’t fully cooled. Let it cool completely, then cold peel.

    • Press marks/gloss on fabric
Use a teflon sheet and reduce pressure slightly.

    • Wait 24 hours before washing

    • Wash inside out, cold water

    • Tumble dry low or hang dry

    • Do not iron directly on the design
